Jeri Phillips

Jeri Phillips has an extensive background in special events, public relations, fundraising and sales. By developing comprehensive marketing plans, advertising pieces and direct marketing campaigns, she has taken everyday programs and made them into highly successful events. Through her media skills she has been able to change potentially controversial resolutions into highly regarded decisions.

Her position with the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, from 1994 to 2003, enabled her to form relationships with over 1,200 local area businesses while assisting them with marketing, sales and grand openings. She was instrumental in doubling chamber membership from 650 members to over 1,200 through membership drives, sales incentive programs and redesigning marketing packets. Previously, she was the director of public relations for Maymont Park in Richmond where she coordinated the nationally known Maymont Flower & Garden Show and other events, appeared regularly on local news programs and published a monthly newspaper for members. As director of marketing for the Virginia Marine Science Museum, she developed corporate and public fundraising programs, designed direct mail and print advertising pieces and actively participated in the strategic planning for a $30 million dollar expansion.

Jeri received her B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from Illinois State University.
