George Evanko
George Evanko previously worked for several leading firms in
the region, including the ProMarc Agency, Hill & Knowlton and
the SheaHedges Group. He brings to SCAPR more than 25 years of
experience in all forms of business communications, including
marketing, public relations, strategic planning, crisis
counseling, message and position development, media and
presentation and audio/video production.
He has provided support to the communications and marketing
efforts of leading organizations and businesses such as MCI, the
United Way of America, HP, the U.S. Army, NextWave Telecom, the
Environmental Protection Agency, and the National League of
Cities. At SCAPR he manages PR for a leading national asset
management firm in the equipment leasing and finance industry.
Before entering public relations, George spent more than 18
years in broadcasting, serving as a news and sports anchor and
reporter on local stations in Maryland and Virginia. He is a
former finalist for Virginia Sportscaster of the Year.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Towson
University. Among his other accomplishments, Evanko was a
two-time winner on “Jeopardy” in 2001, collecting nearly $18,000
in winnings!
