CEOs Measure Reputation

Chief Executive magazine annually conducts a poll on corporate reputation. This year the magazine reported that 94 percent of CEOs said enhancing reputation is an important strategic business objective and some 42 percent even have a formal system in place to measure reputation. The key influencers cited were customers, employees and the personal reputation of the CEO, in that order.



How to Gain Top of Mind

Experts say that between 1980 and 1995 it took seven messages to get into someone's mind. Today they say to gain top of mind, it has doubled to 12-14. We're inundated with information, says Jack Burke, author of the book Relationship Aspect Marketing.



Broadband Beats Chocolate on the Pillow

The number of wired hotels in the United States is expected to double to 1,972 this year, up from 1,000 in 2001, according to In-Stat/MDR, a technology research firm in Scottsdale, Ariz. This suggests broadband beats chocolate on the pillow for most travelers. Source: The Wall Street Journal, June 2002.



Online Advertising Still Climbing

eMarketer reports online ad spending will rise from $7.3 billion in 2001 to $8.1 billion in 2002. The projections are for $9.2 billion in spending next year.



Wireless Explosion

The Associated Press reported recently that in three years there will be 200 million cell phones in use across the country.



Events to Highlight

Susan Carol is presenting in Atlanta at the eLessors Networking Conference, Aug. 28 - 29 on the effect of technology on internal communications and corporate culture. She is also addressing a senior executive audience on niche marketing at the Equipment Leasing Association (ELA) convention in San Francisco, Oct. 15.
